The Center for Faith and Family at Olivet Nazarene University is excited to host a free webinar “A+ Skills: The 5 Skills Every Child Needs in a Tech-Driven World” featuring author and speaker, Arlene Pellicane. This webinar was recorded live on Thursday, May 2, at 7pm CST.  Although academics are certainly desirable, the 5 A+ skills are even more helpful to predict a child’s success in life. In this webinar, Arlene shares how affection, appreciation, anger management, apology, and attention are key skills for growing up in a tech-driven world. She explains why these skills matter, how to help your child grow in them, how these skills tie into the five love languages, and how you can begin to implement them in your home.

Meet the Speaker

ARLENE pellicane

“Once when introduced to a group of women, the emcee read a few of my book titles and exclaimed with a smile, “What more do you want from us?”

Dear friend, I do want more for you!

More happiness in your home. More closeness to God, your family and friends. More purpose, less screen time.

I’ve been honored to speak, write books (translated into over 10 languages), and appear on several media outlets like the Today Show, Wall Street Journal, Focus on the Family, Fox & Friends, TLC’s Home Made Simple, FamilyLife Today, and The 700 Club. I am the host of the Happy Home podcast.  I have also been on the writing team for Proverbs 31 Ministries and Girlfriends in God. I earned a BA from Biola University and a MA from Regent University. Before becoming a speaker and author, I served as a features reporter for The 700 Club and associate director for Turning Point with David Jeremiah.

My happy place is with my husband of more than 23 years, James and our three children, Ethan, Noelle and Lucy. We live in San Diego with our Goldendoodle named Winston.”
